As the move toward all-electric vehicles accelerates, few models have had the same impact that the 2023 Kia EV6 has had. Standing apart from the others in its class, the EV6 has reimagined what an electric vehicle should be like.

Trim Levels

The EV6 comes in five models spread across three classes: the Wind, GT-Line, and the GT. The Wind and the GT-Line have rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) variants, while the top-of-the-range GT only comes with AWD.

Exterior Styling

The exterior styling of the EV6 gives it a high-tech look. It has a futuristic front end with a smart body shape that leads to a rear with a thin lighting strip that runs the width of the car.

The exterior is consistent across the lineup except for the GT-Line and GT models that incorporated GT body kits. The look is completed with the 21-inch alloys on the GT and 20-inch on the GT-Line (e-AWD), while the other models support 19-inch alloys.

Motor Specifications

A permanent magnet AC synchronous motor is fitted throughout the lineup. The horsepower varies depending on the variant and model. The RWD options have 225 hp, while the AWD ones have 320 hp, except for the GT, which has 576 hp.

Traveling Range

Traveling range is all-important with electric vehicles, and the EV6 offers some of the best. The Wind (RWD) and GT-line (RWD) allow you to travel up to 310 miles on a full charge, while the Wind (e-AWD) provides 282 miles, and the GT-Line and GT (e-AWD) deliver 252 and 206 miles, respectively.

Charging Times

Where the EV6 really rises above the completion is in its record-breaking charging times. The car has a flexible charging system that allows it to be charged from both 400v and 800v DC points, with a 50kw 800v DC fast charger able to recharge the battery from 10% level to 80% in only about 18 minutes!

Home charging is also made easy with the availability of a Level 2 240v charging kit. When used, this can take the battery from 10% to full in around 7 hours and 10 minutes.

Technology Features

Right down to how you enter the car with its headlight greeting and smartphone wave unlock, the EV6 incorporates the latest technology to improve your motoring experience. Highlights include an Augmented-Reality Head-Up Display, Surround View Monitor, and Auto-Dimming Rearview mirror, among numerous others.

In terms of safety, all the models come with Kia Driver Wise Driver Assist, a comprehensive suite of safety and driver features, such as blind spot detection and highway driving assist to complement your driving and keep you protected.

Whether it is its high-tech styling, astonishing charging times, range, or packed level of technology, there is no doubt the EV6 is an exceptional electric car.
